The rooms are large with big comfy beds. Ours had a seating area, fire place and balcony. Very clean if a little dated. The two sinks were a good touch. The staff were excellent and friendly. The hotel is excellently placed for Cannery Row. I recommend them.

My family and I stayed at the Victorian Inn for 2 nights. We enjoyed the wine and cheese in the afternoon and great breakfast in the morning. Easy access to Inn, parking underneath, and walking distance to Cannery Row with its shops and restaurants and the Aquarium.a must see in Monterey.

Staff was friendly and the service was great. Room was spacious enough for me and my family and we loved the fire place. Room was quiet and the bed was nice and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Location, Value, Cleanliness, Hospitality, and Character are all the reasons we will choose this hotel again. Rooms are charming w/fireplaces and patios. Staff was friendly, and this property is in walking distance of Aquarium and Canary Row. I have stayed at a few hotels in Monterey and this was one of my favorites, especially because it was priced well for the amenities. They offer a complimentary breakfast, as well as wine & cheese in the afternoon which is a really nice touch. We were two families of three, and we all enjoyed our stay.

We've heard that Best Westerns have circled back around and are improvising their brand..we are finding it true. This place has a 'Victorian decor'...which we weren't sure about because we prefer modern..but it was so clean and had slight touches of modern and so very comfortable and professional...great location. great parking. The man at check in was very professional, cordial and efficient.. We'd stay here again...good job.

An easy walk to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, this older hotel is currently being renovated but definitely worth a stay. We booked a premier room, a very large room with a fireplace, high ceilings, a long window seat and table, two beds, and a nice desk for three friends on a weekend away. We were surprised by a free bottle of wine on our arrival, and every afternoon there was a happy hour spread of red and white wine, cheese, crackers, and apples in the breakfast/lounge area downstairs. The staff was friendly and accommodating, there was convenient underground parking, and we even had a glimpse of ocean out our window. The only downside: some traffic and minor room noise. We were on a top floor, but the windows were single paned and the soundproofing between the rooms was not great. Similarly, the old gas fireplace did not have electric ignition. Hoping that the renovations will help with that.

We booked our hotel last minute when we got in town and luckily the hotel had a room for us. The Front desk even offered to upgrade our room to one of the suite with an amazing view. We stayed for couple nights and it was amazing . Our room was very clean and so cozy.

Stayed before at Inn at Spanish Bay. I wasn’t expecting much but was blown away with everything. Top floor room with ocean view, fireplace in room, 2 block walk to our favorite restaurant The Charthouse, 5 blocks to aquarium. Heard the rain on the roof during the night. Huge room with plenty of lounging room. Nice breakfast included. The least expensive parking in Monterey. What else is there to say? Oh, Buy the aquarium tickets at the desk and they are good for 2 days.

Friendly, helpful staff from front desk to breakfast help, maintenance and cleaners. The bonus of a fireplace allowed for a great place to unwind. Location was great for strolls to shops and restaurants on Cannery Row. PERFECT getaway spot!

Very comfortable and well-maintained hotel just a block from Cannery Row. Parking was available. Rooms were very comfortable and our even had a fire place in it. Lovely landscaping. Everything worked in the room and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was lovely and the shower was great. Highly recommend if you are in the Monterey area and want to stay near Cannery Row. Breakfast was included in the rate we had and it was excellent. There was also an afternoon cheese and wine tasting activity in the hotel reception area.
