Located on the site of historic Hovden Cannery at the north end of Monterey’s Cannery Row, the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium offers interesting and exciting exhibits that are designed to educate, astound and amuse the whole family. This non-profit aquarium is dedicated to marine research and preservation and inspires people to further ocean conservation efforts through their fabulous exhibits that include shark encounters, schools of huge tuna, a life-sized kelp forest, bizarre sunfish, live otters, spectacular jellyfish, comical penguins, hands-on activities for children, and much more, all surrounded by spectacular views of the Monterey Bay.

The Outer Bay Exhibit. Visitors to the Aquarium can experience the thrilling, open waters of the Monterey Bay at this impressive exhibit. The one-million-gallon tank features a remarkable, floor-to-ceiling wall of windows offering visitors a true-to-life, deep sea diver’s view of ocean animals in their natural habitat, including the infamous great white shark, peaceful sea turtles, hammerhead sharks, giant tuna, bizarre ocean sunfish, and others. Visit the Monterey Aquarium. Located at the north end of Monterey’s famous Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is just part of a large marine sanctuary. The Aquarium offers a wide range of permanent and changing exhibits, four gift shops, on-site dining, kids’ scuba lessons, and special events throughout the year, making it a true destination that can be visited over and over. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is open daily, except Dec. 25 from 10am - 6pm, with summer weekend hours from 9:30am-8pm. Ticket prices range from $15.95 - $24.95 and children under age three are free. Located just four blocks from the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and minutes from other popular Monterey attractions, the Victorian Inn offers two-day admission tickets, with access to the special Members’ entrance.
