Historic Monterey, CA. Built in 1907 as a home for the Lang family, the historic home sat regally on a hillside overlooking Monterey Bay. As a huge demand for plentiful sardines harvested in Monterey grew, the land along the rocky coastline of Cannery Row blossomed with new canneries and a major reduction plant, forever eliminating the unobstructed shoreline view. The elegant Lang Victorian House that once stood alone on the rocky plains of New Monterey became enveloped by the commercial structures and worker housing that sprang up to support the sardine era.

Today renamed the Victorian Inn, the former Lang house stands proudly in its historic place and radiates the cozy charm and luxury for which it was intended so long ago. It is in this spirit of elegant grandeur that architect Paul Davis extended the classic Victorian style bay windows, rooflines, railings, and peaceful garden courtyards to the adjacent rooms of the Inn.
